Front view of Ahsan Manzil, also known to the foreigners as the Pink Palace, one of the key tourist attractions of Old Dhaka in Bangladesh.

Built in the nineteenth century, Ahsan Manzil (Pink Palace) was the residence of the Nawabs (landlords) of Dhaka during the colonial period. As the name ‘Pink Palace’ become popular, the authority recently colored it to the brightest form of Pink to justify it’s new name!

The Govt. of Bangladesh has renovated this building and opened it to the general public as a museum. It is open for visitors six days a week. Thursday is a holiday and closed for the visitors. It is a very popular place to the locals. During the weekends, it will be full of local tourists and would be better to avoid visiting on those days.

Ahsan Manzil (Pink Palace) is a must visiting attraction of Old Dhaka. If you are visiting Dhaka city, wearing some pink clothe and taking a photo of yourself here could be fun! Don’t forget to share your photo on our Facebook/Instagram if you do so.
